Why will 2013 be any different to 2012 or 2011?

New Year's Resolutions, Goal Setting, Goals, Dreams, ResolutionsFirst of all, this is not a rant, but an exposé on how most people live their lives insanely…

Albert Einstein said it best when he uttered these pivotal words “Insanity is doing the SAME things over and over again, expecting a DIFFERENT result.”

Now before you get your back up and claim you’re happy and content – you’re missing the point.

I am not advocating that you are not happy or content with your life. What I am suggesting is that maybe, just maybe there is MORE for you out there…

More passion and energy for what fuels your dreams and desires.

More excitement, adventure and variety for the things you love doing.

More challenge, growth and contribution to the causes you feel most attached to.

More love, engagement and interaction with those most precious to you.

More vitality, health and fitness to live life full-on.

More

More of what you already have.

More of what you don’t have, but would like to have.

More

Not because you’re depressed or demoralised, but because you want to grow and become…

More

More confident.

More capable.

More knowledgeable.

More

If any of this resonates with you, consider the fact that it’s all within your reach – with a simple, easy and straightforward process called New Year’s Resolutions.

Now before you frown on something as simple as this – I have a special step-by-step process that is unique, fun and special.

Click on the hyperlink to have a look at what it’s all about – BEFORE you write it off.

Too many people write themselves off before the process even starts.

Too many people would “like their lives to be better” but can’t be bothered to make the SMALL investment necessary to get a lifetime of rewards…

If you are one of these people, you have already clicked off this page and have gone on to something else…

So if you are still reading this, there is a chance you might take the first step today.

But y’know what?

The odds are you won’t.

Most people have given up – on themselves.

They have given up on their ultimate dream and destiny.

I know it sounds pessimistic, sad and cynical. It is and it’s a statistical fact.

MOST people do not achieve their dream goals or live their dream life.

Somewhere along the path, they lose their way, they lose their motivation, they lose their belief, they lose their faith.

Rarely do they seek assistance or guidance.

For some it’s an ego thing – they want to do it on their own, even if that means they will fail or come up short.

For others, they simply have no belief it’s possible – for them.

But there is a small minority of people who have not given up. That small minority still has belief that all it takes is ONE decision – ONE step and their destiny can be altered.

ONE decision.

That’s all it takes. You know what that is – make that ONE decision that will make 2013 your best year ever and learn to do your New Year’s Resolutions in a new, fun and exciting way.

Yoga class empty, New Year’s Resolutions already forgotten!

At the beginning of the year, I blogged about my yoga class being full because people started their New Year’s Resolutions… We’re not even into March and my yoga class is essentially ‘empty’.

There’s no surprise, most people just don’t commit to their goals and therefore never realise their ultimate dreams or destinies.

I used to think it was sad, but no longer.

People who don’t want to commit to any level of discipline aren’t committed enough, don’t want it enough to bother so they haven’t lost anything of value because if it was valuable to them, they’d do something about it… Or so you’d think!

There is nothing wrong with settling for mediocrity – that’s where most people are – the average, the mean, median.

That’s where the NORMAL probability distribution curve’s name comes from.
It’s called NORMAL for a reason.

New Year's Resolutions, Goal Setting, Setting Goals

Normal Probability Distribution Curve

In fact, the curve kinda looks like a few of the people who were in yoga class, lying on their backs, at the beginning of the year… But I digress…

To get extra-ordinary results means you have to do what others aren’t willing to do.

Go to yoga class, go for a run, get to the gym, get on your bike, have a swim… Do something that will get you moving TOWARDS your goal/outcome/dream.

The great news IF you do actually show up and do ‘something’ – is that it gets easier. First of all, like in yoga class – 2/3 of the people are no longer attending. That puts you in the top 1/3 JUST BY SHOWING UP.

Within 3 to 4 weeks (experts claim it takes “21 days” to change a habit) you’ll start to feel, think and act differently – as if by magic.

But y’know what? I won’t waste your time or mine – you know where you’re at.

If you’re at the top end of the probability distribution curve – you’ll click on the hyperlink to determine how to make THIS YEAR YOUR BEST YEAR EVER!

If you’re in the BLUE ZONE of the curve above, all of this falls on deaf ears and you’ll just click away on to another page (if you haven’t already), chase another thought or idea and not following it up with any action.

Don’t worry, you’re in good company – MOST PEOPLE are dabblers. They fool themselves by starting a whole bunch of things, never finishing or following through on any of them so they FEEL like they’re doing something, but it’s all a waste of time, money and effort.

How do you STOP IT?

You know…

You just don’t do it.

Juggling and Time Management

I was talking to someone recently who was overwhelmed with too many things on his plate and I told him something that I thought was worth repeating here…

Juggling 10 Balls and dropping 6 is not the same as juggling 4 balls

Juggling 10 Balls and dropping 6 is not the same as juggling 4 balls

Juggling 10 balls and dropping 6 is not like juggling 4 balls.

First of all it’s a lot harder and you don’t look very good dropping the 6 balls even though most people can’t even juggle 3 balls. That’s the point – PUT THE BALLS DOWN AND JUGGLE THE ONES you can handle THEN and ONLY THEN do you toss another ball in the air.

Successful people juggle a lot of balls and the less successful think it’s the way to go – doing MULTIPLE things at a time.

It’s not. It’s a recipe for disaster and makes you look foolish.

Stop it! Re-gain your compose, reduce your stress and improve your results.

That’s it for today – short and sweet.

Manifesting your vision and destiny

Today’s post is courtesy of Sandy Boldiston.

It needs no introduction other than it ‘came to me automatically’… How freaky is that?!?!

Thanks Sandy!

So get to it! Create your vision and new destiny!

If you are technologically challenged, you can collect photos from magazines and create a ‘dream book’ of images…

Whatever you do, BELIEVE this stuff works – because it does!

I am competing at my first World Masters Championships – a thought I manifested YEARS AGO. I can remember the day – that’ll be a post of its own. For now, share with me another ‘dream come true’ for me.

Celebrate it with me, for me AND FOR YOU – pick a dream that is just as audacious as this one was for me…

Pick one that you’d be thrilled to have.

For me, competing at this top level is truly a dream come true. It’s a goal that has kept me focused, fit and healthy for the past several years. I feel at least 10 years younger, stronger and healthier than my birth certificate reflects.

I’m 45 and can wear the same pants I wore 20 years ago. Not many men my age can say that. As we age, it’s a struggle to keep the weight down and stay fit. Having a goal like this has been MORE than enough to keep me disciplined.

Of course the NEXT GOAL is to WIN games and at some point a division or plate…

First the dream, then the reality!

I’m off to play my first match… Wish me luck!

Onward and upward!

P.S.

We get what we focus on – the more you focus, the more your chances of getting ‘it’.

You need to do it from a place of authenticity, honesty and integrity. Don’t force it… As Deepak Chopra states:

“Release yourself from the expectation of the outcome so you can tap into a discontinuity gap in the universe to instantly synchronise with a non-local correlation that will trigger a quantum leap of creativity and innovation to help you manifest infinite knowledge and boundless possibilities enabling a conspiracy of improbabilities that create your ultimate destiny.”

Outcome versus Reward

This is a really tough distinction to explain.

The statistics are shocking. Only 7% of the population knows the OUTCOME they are trying to achieve, leaving a whopping 93% partially or totally clueless.

Add to that the confusion between the OUTCOME and the REWARD.

Recently, I had a conversation with an Internet Marketing enthusiast who when I asked what his OUTCOME was, responded “I want to drive a BMW and fly Business Class”.

That’s the REWARD of the OUTCOME, NOT the OUTCOME he needs to aim for.

The OUTCOME is what you want to achieve, the REWARD is what you end up with ONCE you have achieved it.

That’s a big part of the problem people have – they are focused on the wrong target.

There is no question that focusing on the BMW is motivational, but the REWARD would be a 7 or 8 series instead of a 3 series IF focus actually shifted to the OUTCOME that leads to the REWARD.

For my squash competition, the OUTCOME is for me to play my best and the REWARD is to win games.

In business, I have the OUTCOME to create MORE THAN $20 MILLION in value for my clients and the REWARD will be the profits I take home AFTER my clients have been served and paid me.

Can you see how I wake up in the morning with a completely different mindset?

If your focus is on the REWARD – you’re trying to make as much money as you can and your brain gets confused rather than clear.

You could be confusing your suspects and prospects by offering “Personal training products for 400 pound elite athletes who need to lose weight.”

If you had clarity of OUTCOME, you’d have focus and you’d go full-on with an approach that could be directed toward

  • Elite athletes who are looking for that ONE strategy, tip or technique that can improve their performance by 3, 4 or 5% because they know it would be enough to win more points, games, matches or competitions.

OR

  • The general public who is overweight, but NOT obese, needing and WANTING to lose 20 to 30 pounds within the next 2-3 months without medical supervision and without resorting to short-term ‘crash diets’ but rather creating long-term health habits that become permanent.

I am sure you’ll agree that either one of these strategies can work to give you the REWARD – the issue is that the OUTCOMES are completely different even though the REWARD is essentially the same!

Yeah I know it’s a “conundrum and dilemma wrapped up in a paradox.”

Onward and upward!

P.S.

This is not semantics – this stuff is THAT important.

It might take a while, but when you do ‘get it’, it will Unleash The Exponential Potential™ that is within you, waiting to be set free.

If you don’t know your OUTCOME, how can you possibly expect your suspects and prospects to select you and do business with you?!?!

If you are focused on your REWARD – the client has no place in your mind – NONE.

That is one of the reasons you’re not succeeding as much or as quickly as you would like.
