Sore knees playing table tennis on carpet?

We can’t all have fit-for-purpose training facilities for our chosen sport. Often, when it comes to table tennis or ping pong, rooms are unfortunately carpeted.

If you’re more than a casual social table tennis player, you’ll soon start to have sore knees!

There’s a simple solution, get yourself bowling shoes!

These are “KR Strikeforce Aviator Mens Bowling Shoes” available on Amazon.

The reason you want to wear bowling shoes to play table tennis is because they’re designed for the forefoot to be “slippery” while the heel provides necessary traction. With good “on your toes” footwork, these will save your knees while providing you all the rotational torque you want for your forehand loops!

Enjoy!

This idea is the result of the feedback loop within a Deliberate Practice Principles training methodology. If one of your New Year’s Resolutions is to learn a new sport or improve your proficiency in an existing one, this training approach will enable you to improve a lot faster than the so-called 10,000 Hour Rule!
