Anyone who’s played squash realises that it can be a contact sport, but let’s hope it never degenerates to this level of protective gear requirements!

I have to admit that I am not a nutrition expert even though I am an elite athlete. I always tell people to track and monitor what works and what doesn’t and adjust accordingly. I came across this cartoon last year when I was in North America for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. It was just so funny, I had to share it with you.
Don’t get me wrong – Roger Federer is the all-time best tennis player, but this just can’t be for real. It’s just not possible to do it twice in a row… or is it?
Here’s a commercial – just for fun!
I found this lying around a squash club recently, I don’t know who the author is other than his first name is Phil. I thought it was worth sharing because (1) it’s pretty good prose and (2) I respect people who put themselves out there for other people’s fun and enjoyment. Thank you Phil!

We all come to hit the little black ball
some like to smash it against the wall
Others are so gentle
using angles and the feel.
We extend our bodies beyond their range
and in the mornings feel quite strange
for when the feet first hit the floor
us oldies stagger in pain to the dunny door.
The game is played indoors from the sun
but rain, hail or shine we do have fun
squashies are all very sincere
at the end sharing a beer.
Squash players come from far and wide
on a court there is nowhere to hide
the swing of the racquet heralds the start
throughout the rallies they try and stay apart.
At the front a drop shot squatting so low
as the opponent races in they’re struck by a blow
line an invisible wall
they crash in and try not to fall.
You miserable cad they let fly
tears running down their cheeks they cry
“Let please” the appeal to the referee
that is cheating as it all wafts free.
This blog is all about bringing you stuff you wouldn’t find on your own. This YouTube video of Bruce Lee is fantastic. It shows what you can do when you are creative and want to demonstrate someone’s absolute mastery. He was so good, it’s almost believable. Almost.
Thank you to Michael Pye of the South Shore Diet for forwarding this to me. Thanks Michael!
This blog celebrates sports and its athletes’ achievements. This short video is one of those examples where the laws of physics seem to be twisted into a knot. Watch how this 9-year old scores this goal. You’ll be rewinding it over and over again in amazement. I once played with someone who had a similar trick – unfortunately it was way before YouTube was around.
If you have a secret weapon like this – develop and nurture it. The unleash it when you need it most!
Psst! If anyone can teach me a similar shot like that in squash, I’ll pay big money to learn it!
Thank you to Andrew Powell from Montreal Canada for forwarding this to me.
You might not know this, but I have a lot of ‘fans’ who follow my squash exploits – not because they are squash fanatics or addicts, but because they are either champions themselves or are seeking greater awareness of their own Exponential Potential. Many of them send me stuff like the video below which keeps me pumped, passionate and pushing myself…
Before you go ahead and watch the video below, I just wanted to thank you for all the support, love and encouragement you’ve shown me in the past week while I was competing at the 2009 World Masters Games. I will be blogging about several other distinctions and insights on this and my other blogs over the next few weeks – it really has been a surreal experience. One that even surpassed my own expectations by a long shot.
Every time I stepped on the court, I felt you there with me – that meant I played harder and better. I highly recommend that you compete in sports and when you do, that you involve others to be there with you -physically or in spirit. It makes a difference.
Anthony Robbins calls it leverage and I totally agree – however not in the sense of getting you to do something you otherwise wouldn’t do, but for successful people who are already at a good, great or excellent level – to stretch their sphere of influence to become the best they can become. The person they knew they always could become.
Once again thank you and here’s a video that was sent to me by Bruce Hildebrand of Balance and Control Pilates in Melbourne… Enjoy!
You might not know her if you’re not a squash addict, but Sarah Fitzgerald is a phenomenon in women’s squash… I got to referee her match following mine. How cool is that? Who would have guessed? She is the epitome of a legend as you would expect – she has the pace and power of a man and the elegance, touch and precision of a woman which is why she is the ultimate female squash player we’ve seen in ‘our generation’. Plus she plays for fun and makes every game entertaining as she dominates her opponents with respect.
This is one of the many benefits of the lifestyle I have – if you want to be in and around legends, you just need to play YOUR GAME at the highest level – organise your life accordingly. Get better professional and business results so you can afford the time ‘off’ to do something like this.
There are 28,292 competitors 8,563 from overseas and 19,729 compete in 25 sports, in 5,574 separate events. Making this the largest multi-sport event in the world, dwarfing the Olympics.
If you want to start living a lifestyle like this, you need financial and physical independence to be able to afford travelling AND taking the time off ‘work’…

Every once in a while someone ‘thinks’ of doing something out of the ordinary that is worthy of consideration if only out of intrigue. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS and DON’T PRACTICE actually doing it on the edge of the pool – try to jump to get your feet out of the water in THE MIDDLE OF THE POOL first – if you can’t do that, you’ll never get to this level AND you’ll keep your front teeth!
Today’s post is a video I just published on YouTube. It’s only 43 seconds long, but I can tell you chances are you’ll watch it more than once. It graphically and absolutely makes the point that you need to know your outcome to succeed. Kids, don’t try this at home!
