President Obama Makes History

I got up at 2:30 AM to watch President Obama’s inauguration – what a spectacle! I never thought I would live to see the day a black man would be President of the United States, but then again the same was true of the Berlin Wall… This is a great and momentous day for the US and the World.

As a Canadian, I was brought up with full access to US television and its unique ‘culture’. So this means a lot to me. Now as an Australian resident (soon-to-be citizen), I am excited about what this can mean for the world if he lives up to the expectations and possibilities that many (including me) think he is capable of.

The reason I post about this is BECAUSE when history is made – you want to be a part of it. Monica and I have been up since 2:30 to watch it LIVE and see it unfold, much like we did when the Twin Towers were hit in 2001.

This is as much a turning point as 9-11 was for the US and the world – our thoughts are with the Obamas and the new administration as they embark on one of the most challenging but also opportunistic times for REFORM and REJUVENATION.

“Yes we can Mr President, yes we can!”
