The power of exponential thinking

Exponential thinking is powerful, but not ‘natural’ or easy for the novice to grasp. It is at the core of leverage, how successful people are able to achieve more by doing less. Even though it is largely conceptual for personal development purposes, exponential is very real and very effective.

The example below is an example of how elegantly powerful exponential thinking is…

Did you know that if you could fold a piece of typical paper 42 times you would have a tower that would stretch to the moon?

Ahh you say, but it’s impossible to fold a piece of paper more than eight times. Turns out, like so many unreferenced claims, that isn’t true. The record is in fact 12.

Still that twelve-fold piece of paper isn’t even table height – it’s hard to imagine getting from table height to the Moon in 30 more folds. That’s because our brains are inclined to think linearly, not exponentially.

Imagine what would happen if you adopted Exponential Mindset Thinking?!?!

Inspirational Quote: Don’t keep re-reading the past

You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.
Next Chapter

If you want to create the ultimate destiny for yourself, I invite you to do My Best Year Ever Program – based on the well known process of New Year’s Resolutions.

Most people struggle with NOT KNOWING what they want. This step-by-step program will help you determine what you want so you can write the next chapter of your life as you would like it to unfold.

How exciting would it be if you could write your own future? I call that 20/20 Foresight – it’s a skill I teach ambitious business people. The hardest part of the process is knowing what you want.

Be Outstanding

Tweet - Outstanding

I know my recent blog posts have been lighthearted, because life is a balance between the serious achievement orientation that discipline requires and the creative, fun and adhoc contribution that humour provides. Taking life too seriously serves no purpose – it’s to be lived and enjoyed.

Success is in the journey – NOT the destination.

It’s easy to forget that…

Pay it forward

Thank you note - paying it forward

I think we have all heard the expression – pay it forward – be nice to someone without any expectation of reciprocation and at some point in the future, someone else will do the same for you.

I saw this note on our building’s bulletin board and thought it was sweet for someone to be kind and purchase the macaroons, but then the recipient wanted to publicly (yet anonymously) thank him/her.

It made my day to realise that there are still a lot of really, nice, kind, generous people in the world!

Have a fabulous day and “pay it forward” in your own way.
